During the meeting, group leaders provided a detailed briefing on the progress of the “One Route, One Waterway, Two Locks” project.

After listening to a briefing on the project’s progress, Zou Xuequn stated that the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal People’s Government attach great importance to advancing the “One Road, One Waterway, Two Locks” project. He recommended that work and project construction be carried out in accordance with the overall approach of phased implementation—first ensuring connectivity, then achieving smooth operation—while accelerating the development of supporting infrastructure to ensure the terminals operate smoothly and deliver tangible benefits. Moving forward, the transportation authorities will, in line with the requirement to stabilize the overall economy, make all-out efforts to provide robust project support; collaborate with local governments to continuously strengthen the management and improvement of water transport terminals; and proactively report to and coordinate with higher-level authorities in the autonomous region to secure greater policy and financial support.

Lu Yu expressed her gratitude to Zou Xuequn for his valuable suggestions and recommendations on the project’s construction. She pointed out that, due to a combination of factors—including relevant policy constraints and significant downward economic pressure—the progress of the “One Road, One Waterway, Two Locks” project still needs to be further accelerated. In recent times, the Mining Investment Group has proactively coordinated with the relevant counties, districts, and government departments, concentrating its key resources on expediting the project’s preliminary work. The Group has also engaged in multi-level consultations and exchanges with a number of leading enterprises and consortium teams both within and outside the region, conducting comprehensive evaluations and selections of project implementation plans to ensure that only the best options are chosen. Currently, the four 1,000-ton-class berths in the Majiang Operation Area of the Hezhou Port Area have already entered trial operation, thereby completing—well ahead of schedule—the annual investment target assigned by the Autonomous Region Department of Transport. Work is now being vigorously advanced to accelerate the completion of supporting facilities in the Majiang Operation Area, with the aim of achieving the goal of 1,000-ton-class navigable capacity at an early date.
